The Transylvanian Art Center cordially invites You to the opening of Antal Jánosi’s exhibition at Sfântu Gheorghe, Oltului street no. 2, 3rd floor, on Friday, the 25th of June 2021, at 6 pm.

The exhibition will be opened by the artist András Dimény.

Antal Jánosi graphic artist I Sânmartin, 13 October 1954.
In 1955 they moved to Cluj-Napoca and he lived there until 1980. Between 1976 and 1980 he was a student of graphic art at the Ion Andreescu Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj Napoca. After graduating from university, like his contemporaries, he found a job as a teacher, teaching in Miercurea Ciuc and the surrounding villages. In 1988 he founded the graphic art and painting department of the Popular Art School in Miercurea Ciuc, where he worked part-time for 30 years until his retirement. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Romanian Artists’ Association. In 2003, he initiated, and then together with Zsolt Berszán, founded and edited the bilingual contemporary art magazine Nyitott Műhely / Atelier Deschis / Open Studio, which reported on the contemporary art events in the country quarterly and semi-annually for about five years. In 2004, together with Zsolt Berszán and Örs Csongor Kelemen, they founded the Atelier Deschis Association. In 2005 he participated in the foundation of the Contemporary Art Museum in Miercurea Ciuc. Between 2005 and 2006, the international INTERart project, the Open Studio contemporary art magazine and the Contemporary Art Museum were presented within the framework of several symposia at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, the University of Fine Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca and the H'Art Gallery in Bucharest.
